PAT Youth Wing is the official youth wing of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) — a democratic political party founded on 25 May 1989 by Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the same religious scholar who also founded Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
PAT was formed to give Pakistan a democratic, reform-oriented political platform — one focused on public welfare, accountability, an independent judiciary, a comprehensive national education policy, and equal rights for every citizen regardless of background. Its youth wing channels the energy of young Pakistanis into organized political and civic participation.
PAT Youth Wing (Karachi) is the divisional chapter representing PAT's youth in Karachi — mobilising young people for the party's political and social activities in the city.

In May 1989, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri founded Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) as a democratic, reform-driven political party committed to public welfare, judicial independence and accountable governance. He contested and won a seat in the 1990 general election, serving as a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan until 29 November 2004, when he resigned in protest against counter-terrorism policies of the government of the day that he viewed as authoritarian.
After seven years in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Qadri returned to Pakistan in December 2012 and launched a nationwide campaign for electoral reform, culminating in a march on Islamabad in January 2013 that drew tens of thousands of supporters from Lahore. The resulting Islamabad Long March Declaration committed the government to reforms for fairer elections. In August 2014 he led the historic Inqilab March (Revolution March) from Lahore to Islamabad, a months-long sit-in for electoral and institutional reform that followed the tragic Model Town incident of 17 June 2014, in which several PAT workers lost their lives during a police operation — a defining chapter that only strengthened his resolve for justice and accountability, one he continued to pursue in the years that followed.
In 2019, having firmly established PAT's democratic and reform-driven direction, Dr. Qadri entrusted the party's leadership to its central council so he could focus more fully on his religious, educational and humanitarian work from Canada — work that includes guiding Minhaj-ul-Quran International's global mission and the youth movements, including PAT Youth Wing, that carry his reform vision forward today.
Born on 24 October 1982 in Lahore, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri is the President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) and a Professor of Economics at Minhaj University Lahore, where he also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors. He studied at Aitchison College Lahore, then earned degrees in Economics and Political Science from York University Toronto, an MBA from Sciences Po Paris, a PhD in Economics from Victoria University Melbourne, and an advanced certification in corporate sustainability from Harvard University.
He chairs the Minhaj Education Society, which oversees more than 610 schools and colleges across Pakistan, as well as Aghosh Orphan Care Homes, Al-Mawakhat Islamic Microfinance and Minhaj Halal Certification Pakistan. He has authored around sixty books and more than 100 research articles on Islamic economics, international trade and interfaith dialogue, and has received the Ambassador for Peace Award from both the Universal Peace Federation (UN Austria) and the Tashkent Medical Academy.
A Fellow and Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne, he has travelled to more than 50 countries for socio-economic, cultural and religious activities, and continues to write on social, political and economic issues for national and international publications.
Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri is the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Dean of the Faculty of Law at Minhaj University Lahore, where he also heads the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences and Minhaj College for Women. He studied Arabic and Islamic Studies at Minhaj University Lahore, earned an LLB from the Pakistan College of Law, an MSc in Management from London's Sir John Cass Business School, and a PhD in Islamic and Western Constitutional Law from the Arab League University in Cairo, Egypt.
His research includes a pioneering comparative study of the Constitution of Medina alongside American, British and European constitutional frameworks, and he has authored more than twenty books in Arabic, English and Urdu on constitutional law, Islamic governance, deradicalization and interfaith harmony. Under his supervision, MQI secured special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and expanded its work to more than 90 countries.
He has delivered keynote addresses at the United Nations in Vienna, UNESCO in Paris and sessions of the World Economic Forum, presenting Islam as a religion of peace at international forums across the world.
Sarim Noor is a Chartered Management Accountant by profession and currently serves as Director of Operations at a Karachi-based nonprofit. His connection to Minhaj-ul-Quran began not through any formal recruitment, but through a book — Iman ka Markaz-o-Mehwar by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri — given to him by his childhood religious teacher around 2013, which set him on a path of independent study and reflection.
In August 2014 he travelled to Lahore and saw Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri in person for the first time, a moment he describes as deeply transformative. Days later he joined the historic Inqilab March from Lahore to Islamabad, and by 2015 he had formally joined Minhaj Youth League Karachi, beginning as Secretary Social Media and rising over the following years through Secretary Information and Deputy General Secretary.
In August 2026, after more than a decade of volunteer service across media, welfare and youth programmes, Sarim Noor was asked to lead Minhaj Youth League Karachi as its President. He is a life member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Life Membership No. 22643), and continues to describe the role as a new chapter in an ongoing journey rather than a destination.
